Beth Garigen, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Do you sometimes feel like you are swimming in the ocean of life and can barely keep your head above water? Are you struggling to find joy in your day-to-day routine? Small changes can make a big difference, but sometimes we get stuck in our habits and distracted by our lives. My role as a therapist is to help you find what is keeping you stuck in this cycle and provide you with empowering tools to gain control over your life.

I specialize in managing day-to-days stressors, anxiety, specific phobias, eating disorders, relationship distress, and adjusting through change. I also work closely with schools to develop plans for students struggling in school.

Professional Experience

I use an integration of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Through these therapeutic techniques, I will help you raise awareness of your thinking patterns and limited beliefs to break old behaviors. We will work together. By working collaboratively, I will help guide you to the next empowering step of reaching your therapeutic goals.

Throughout my career, I have focused on understanding the processes of the mind and human behavior. I began as a Behavior Specialist focusing on the basics of behavior management. From there, I spent the next 20 years working as a Counselor in the public school system with children from 5-18 years of age. In 2007, I obtained Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) through New York state.
