Bridget Steffan, LCSW

As individuals, we want to be understood and truly seen and heard by those around us. You are not alone and sometimes we need to hear that. As your therapist, I plan to help you become your true authentic self while providing a judgement free space where I will listen to you with empathy and support as we work together to achieve your goals. Empathy is something that I have always wanted to share with others, and it has given me great fulfillment to know that you are reading this and that we can start your journey of healing together.

I believe in a strengths-based perspective that involves incorporating every part of yourself into therapy whether it is the lyrics from your favorite rock band or the quote from your favorite movie. Everything does indeed matter and so do you.

Professional Experience

My passion for psychology began at Canisius University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then attended the University at Buffalo School of Social Work and received a Master’s degree. From there, I’ve acquired clinical experience in community-based agencies in the community of Buffalo, NY. I have experiences in counseling individuals and couples. Additionally, I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and utilize this modality as a tool to assist clients with making healthy connections with others and themselves. My philosophy encompasses the belief that we must first improve the relationship we have with ourselves before we can improve the relationships with others.

I specialize in treating anxiety, relationship & infidelity issues, low self-esteem, depression, personality disorders, and areas related to intellectual disabilities. I am a New York State Licensed therapist and offer both in person as well as telehealth appointments for your convenience. If you are interested in working together, book an appointment today!
