Finding balance and enjoying your life is something that you deserve. Life has its own plans for us at times, which can get in the way of our ability to achieve our goals, our ability to find pleasures in the world around us, or it may create difficulties in our ability to maintain healthy coping skills to manage these life events. No matter what your struggle is, finding support and asking for help is one of the biggest and most rewarding steps in your healing journey.
I work with those who have attention deficit disorders (ADHD/ADD), anxiety, depression, school issues, family difficulties and much more, depending on what your journey needs. I work with people ages 3+, mostly with kids, adolescents, teens, and young adults. I use tools such as games, art, and humor to engage individuals and families. Mindfulness is something that I practice with everyone, in an effort to help people be present and find more joy in their lives. I enjoy working with children and their parents to help foster a healthy dynamic in the family. I am a certified Play Therapist, with a focus on trauma. I work with kids, families, and individuals to help increase communication and create positive relationships. I am DBT trained and use these skills with those that have impulsivity difficulties. Art is something that I am passionate about in all mediums to help promote creativity and healing, this is often brought up in my practice in any capacity that may be relevant.
Professional Experience
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a background in art! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Art History at Buffalo State College, then I continued my education through graduate school at Medaille College and completed my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In my career I have had the opportunity to work with different populations in a variety of different settings such as group therapies, high schools, college campuses, offices and by teletherapy. I have been trained in Trauma Focused Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy although I often incorporate many different modalities into my practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, art as therapy, and many more depending on what best meets my patients needs.
I am a Buffalo fanatic and I am passionate about helping the people that make up the “City of Good Neighbors”, as well as the best fandom in sports. (Go Bills!)
