Megan Donovan, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Whether you’re working to overcome past trauma, struggling with depression or anxiety, building healthier and more fulfilling relationships, or navigating the complexities of being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, we will collaborate to uncover your strengths and empower you to create meaningful and lasting change. At the heart of our work together is the understanding that healing is a continuous journey—one that requires time, patience, and self-compassion. You don’t have to take this path alone. I am here to walk alongside you, offering support, guidance, and a safe space to explore the challenges you face.
I am a dedicated mental health professional with over six years of experience in various settings where I provided individual, group, and family therapy, as well as behavioral case management, and crisis intervention, for individuals ages seven and older. I strive to make therapy engaging and meaningful by incorporating fun and creativity, using innovative techniques to enhance each client’s experience.
Professional Experience
I specialize in various evidenced-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centered Therapy, and work to create individualized treatment plans for each client that foster emotional and psychological well-being. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Xavier University. Currently, I am pursuing a Post-Master’s Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis to further enhance my expertise in evidence-based interventions.
Growth is a lifelong journey, and every step forward—no matter how small—is a step toward healing and self-discovery. My commitment to learning and evolving mirrors my dedication to supporting you on your path. Together, we will navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and build a future filled with resilience and purpose. If you’re ready to take that next step, I invite you to schedule an appointment.
