“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, you are not the rain.” – author, Matt Haig I believe we all experience the rain drops of mental health at various times, and to various degrees, throughout our lifetime. Seeking mental health treatment can help you learn how to recognize the signs of a storm, and, help you to learn how to cope with it. Whether your forecast is a severe thunderstorm, or a light shower, my hope is to provide you with the courage and resources to face it.

Professional Experience

I currently specialize within the areas of mood disorders, trauma, women’s issues, stress and anger management, building healthy relationships and self-esteem. When it comes to tackling one’s goals within the therapeutic setting, there can be a variety of approaches- one size does not fit all. I believe in an individualized approach, meaning I tailor my approach to each person based on their needs. I am a firm believer in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Additionally, I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, and creative approaches with art and music. Above all else, I aim to provide a non-judgmental and laid-back environment in order to create a safe environment for one to be their authentic self.

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Canisius College (Go Griffs!). Since then, I have practiced counseling in various mental health agencies and private practices in the WNY area. I have experience working with an array of issues from Severe Persistent Mental Health Illnesses (SPMIs), LGBTQ+ issues, substance abuse and addiction, and trauma.
