Patricia Williams, MHC-P

Mental Health Counselor

Welcome to your journey of self-discovery and healing.

Is it okay to admit that you’re not, okay? Absolutely! Life is a beautifully hectic journey, filled with complex experiences that weave together to form a unique tapestry. Our challenges make us who we are and provide opportunities for growth and transformation. Sometimes, all it takes is a shift in perspective to navigate the difficult moments. As a dedicated clinician, I employ evidence-based methods to guide you on a path of self-discovery and empowerment, helping you reshape your life for the better. I work with individuals of all ages, from adolescents to seniors, addressing concerns that impact your everyday life. My mission is to help you embrace your true self with compassion and acceptance.

Your story is essential; creating a nurturing environment and a safe space for sharing your story is my passion. I specialize in trauma-informed care and address challenges like anxiety, depression, financial
struggles, and relationship issues. I also focus on essential topics, including racial identity, women’s concerns, parenting, and providing career guidance. Using motivational interviewing and narrative
therapy, I empower individuals to overcome obstacles and lead fulfilling lives.

As Rumi beautifully said, “This being human is a guest house. Every morning, a new arrival: Joy, depression, meanness, and some momentary awareness come as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,….still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight,”…Rumi. (The Guest House)

Professional Experience

My formal education has profoundly shaped my approach to whole-person counseling and my commitment to lifelong learning. I proudly hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Medaille College and a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Human Service Social Science from SUNY Albany/Empire. My practice is rooted in evidence-based methods such as trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and existentialism while
embracing creative techniques like lyrics-effective communication and laughter meditation.

Trust is the cornerstone of transformation. Recognizing that seeking support is a sign of strength is essential, and I am here to guide you on this transformative journey. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges and unlock your potential for growth and healing.
