Rue Robinson, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

“A bird sitting in a branch is not afraid of the branch breaking – for its trust is not in the tree – but in the strength of its own wings.” It is human to stumble and sometimes we need a gentle reminder of our strengths. We are all human. We have all had moments confronting a loss, having our heart broken, or feeling like we don’t belong. You are not alone, and you can get through this. As your therapist, I support and guide you as a gentle presence to remind you of the strength in your wings to grow.

Overall, I take a holistic approach to healing by assessing mind, body and spirit. I am also a very creative and easy-going person at heart, so I often blend in the use of art, nature, and mindfulness in my practice. I specialize in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, personality disorders, relationship and attachment issues. If you think we may be a good fit, and you’d like to take that next step toward your full potential, please reach out!

Professional Experience

Before entering private practice, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Canisius College in 2020, and have been practicing as a mental health counselor in agency-settings. I worked with a full range of ethnicities, race, spirituality, ability levels, ages and mental health symptoms. My undergraduate background is in Sociology and Psychology, which I feel influences my systemic and existential approach to the therapeutic process. Formally, I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal family systems (IFS), and Progressive Counting (PC) for Trauma Processing.
